Project title: Study of Circulating Monocytes in Patients with Ischemic Vascular Disease

Monocytes in Ischemic Vascular Disease: Enrolling Healthy Participants aged 55+
We are recruiting healthy volunteers for a study on ischemic vascular disease. The purpose of this study is to discover the functions of circulating white blood cells, called monocytes, and associated circulating substances in heart attack and stroke patients. We will perform a short questionnaire to obtain your past medical history and review your UCHC medical records to ensure that you are eligible to enroll. If you qualify, we will draw a small amount of blood.
Who is eligible?
- Must be 55 years old or over
- Have no history of heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension or diabetes, and are not pregnant
