The UConn Health Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit is currently taking part in a clinical research study for adults and adolescents with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). If you are having problems managing your HS, you may be able participate in this research study
The Step-Up HS Research Study is a clinical research study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug compared to a placebo for participants living with moderate to severe HS. If you join the study, you will have a 50/50 chance of receiving the investigational drug or the placebo (a substance that looks like the investigational drug but has no active ingredients), both taken orally (by mouth).
You may be able to take part in the Step-Up HS Research Study if you:
- Are 12 years old or older
- Have been diagnosed with HS for at least 6 months
- Haven’t seen enough improvement from a previous HS treatment
