  • 3/19 Fire Alarm Test Tomorrow

    Fire Alarm Acceptance Test

The last portion of the campus fire alarm system will be tested Tuesday, March 19, within the following schedule.

    6 to 7 a.m. Building M

    6 to 8 a.m. Buildings N and S

    7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Buildings D, 8, J, 17, 18, U, R, P & G1

    7 a.m. to 3 p.m. JAX and Medical Examiner

This acceptance testing is being conducted by Johnson Controls, our fire alarm contractor, the UConn Fire Deptartment and the UConn Fire Marshal as required by code.

A test message will be announced preceding the start of testing. The visual alarm (strobe lights) and sounding of the audible alarm will be kept to a minimum and is anticipated to last a few minutes. In the unlikely event there is an actual fire alarm, the system will convert to normal operation.

That concludes this one-time system acceptance testing.  The annual notification testing of all of the individual devices will happen the end of March through June. – More notices will follow.
