Beyond the Ph.D. is excited to welcome Dr. Brittany Knight, the director of operations for the United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP).
Dr. Knight earned her Ph.D. in biomedical science from UConn Health August 2019. Subsequently, she undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the Connecticut Convergence Institute. In her current role as director of operations for USASP, a nonprofit organization dedicated to pain science and research, she collaborates with the board of directors and various committees, oversees the planning of the annual scientific meeting, manages educational and professional development initiatives, and leads various other projects. Additionally, Dr. Knight holds positions as the regional director for the Connecticut Junior Science and Humanities Symposium and co-director for Beyond the Ph.D.
In this career seminar Dr. Knight will discuss her path to her current role and how her various leadership positions have guided her career trajectory along the way.
Dr. Knight will be giving a hybrid seminar about her career path and how her various leadership positions have guided her career trajectory along the way next Friday, Feb. 23, at 3:30 p.m. Registration for the event is free and is open to anybody interested.
As this event will be held in hybrid format, there are two ticket options to choose from. In-person attendance will be limited to UConn students, faculty, and staff. Those planning to attend in person should select the "In-person Attendee" ticket option. The event will be held at UConn Health (Main Building) in the Low Learning Center. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Graduate Student Organization (GSO). All other attendees should plan to attend via Zoom and should select the "Virtual Attendee" ticket option.
