Target Audience: UConn Health faculty, residents, medical students, and other mental health professionals
Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):
- Identify risk for firearm violence and suicide, and how mental illness contributes to that risk
- Recognize how to have culturally appropriate and respectful conversations with patients and their families to reduce risk
- Describe available interventions for patients at risk of firearm-related harm, including how people become prohibited from ownership through the mental health system
