    Purpose: This session will address the policies that UConn medical students worked on for the past AMA policy cycle. Our students will be addressing policy topics on Medical Professional use of ERPO laws; Expanding Support for Access to Abortion Care; Using Gender Inclusive Language in Menstrual Healthcare; Expansion of Medicaid Coverage for HPV Screening and Increased Research for Self-Sampling HPV Screens; Estrogen as a Risk Factor for Stroke in Patients with Migraine/ Migraine with Aura; and Expanding Inclusion of Diverse Mannequins Used in CPR and AED Training.

    Target Audience:  Faculty, staff, and trainees at the UConn Health, School of Medicine

    Learning Objectives:  Participants will (be able to):

    1. Develop an increased awareness of current AMA policies that are being discussed at a national level.
    2. Illustrate how our medical students participate in the AMA for policy development.
    3. Discuss current topics of interest to the medical student section of the AMA at a national level.

    Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
