  • EAP Frontline Publications and Retirement Planning

The Employee Assistance Program's newsletters, Frontline Employee and Frontline Supervisor, are published and posted monthly on the EAP website. Click Publications in the right column and scroll down to the February 2022 editions.

Over the course of our working years, retirement planning primarily focuses on finances and the importance of saving adequately.  However, as one approaches retirement, it is important to also address the psychological aspects of leaving your career. In recent weeks, the EAP has heard from a number of employees who have made the decision to retire, or are beginning to think about doing so in the coming year or two. Regardless of where one is in the decision process, thoughtful planning helps insure that this next life stage is a fulfilling one.

As a reminder, EAP counselors are available to meet with employees who wish to explore the emotional aspects of retirement.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential assessment, brief counseling and referral service available to all employees and their family members. To schedule, or to speak with an EAP counselor, please call 860-679-2877 or contact us by email at uchc_eap@uchc.edu.
