  • Upgrading Obsolete UCH Mac & Windows Computers

To bring the Mac community into compliance with current security standards we are upgrading all remaining Macintosh computers to MacOS 10.15.7 – Catalina or later. Macintosh laptops and desktops that have not been upgraded to MacOS Catalina or later will not be able to be run the CrowdStrike security software, or the new Office365 suite which will be deployed soon.

Apple Desktop Technicians have been going through all buildings at the UConn Health Farmington campus to assess and upgrade any remaining Macintosh computers to an appropriate and securable version of MacOS. Technicians will need access to computers to verify what operating system and software is currently installed. They will work with end users directly to assess if the computer can be upgraded, help coordinate purchasing of any software applications that may need to be upgraded, schedule downtime of the computer, as well as backup and restore all data, applications, and configurations to the upgraded system.

If you have any Mac computers that are still running MacOS 10.14 or earlier and would like to schedule an upgrade please call x4400 and have a ticket created for the Mac team. Or if you have any questions email: DL-MacUpgradeTeam.

NOTE: Any remaining Windows 7 computers will also need to be upgraded to Windows 10 in order to run the new Office365 suite locally. If you have a computer that is still running Windows 7 and would like to schedule an upgrade, please reach out to DL-Win10UpgradeTeam.
