A respiratory therapist (RT) is a specialized health care provider trained in critical care and cardiopulmonary medicine. Patients receiving care from an RT range in age from premature infants to our geriatric population.
For the past two years, respiratory therapists have been on the front lines more than usual. COVID-19 has forced RTs into new territory by working countless hours away from their loved ones and risking their own personal health to assist in the COVID-19 surge.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the entire respiratory care team for their dedication and hard work provided to our patients and UConn Health community.
