Apple has released the new MacOS 11 – Big Sur.
UCH IT strongly recommends that you schedule a time with an IT technician to assess the computer hardware capabilities and current software compatibility with the new OS before upgrading the OS.
Because of the required third party security software and certificates installed on all UCH Apple computers, the initial releases of new operating system versions from Apple are not compatible with our system configurations immediately upon their release and availability for download.
Upgrading the operating system version yourself on UCH equipment will most likely result in data loss, extended periods of downtime, and the potential high cost of having to purchase the latest versions of software applications due to incompatibility with the new OS version.
You should always confirm that your Time Machine backup is current before running any updates.
