    Managers: Please post this update in your respective areas.

    Parking Lot A3 – Fuel Oil Tank Permanent Closure & Piping Replacement

    • Project Scope: Permanently close two existing underground fuel oil storage tanks and replace piping to a third existing tank.
    • Schedule: Work will be complete in November.
    • Impacts:
      • Construction fence is in place in Lot A3 to enclose the work area.  Approximately 39 Area 1 parking spaces are out of service until the project is complete.
      • Be aware of posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
      • Construction vehicles will be traveling into and through Lot A3 daily.  Please use caution when driving and walking in the area.
      • Construction work may generate some odors and noise.  Please contact Janice Hill at 860-480-6392 to report any issues.

    Human Resource Elevator – 16 Munson Road

    • Project Scope: The elevator that travels between the 5th floor (Human Resources) and the 3rd floor at 16 Munson Road is out of service for repairs.
    • Schedule: Parts are on order and anticipated delivery of parts is the end of October. Repair work is anticipated to be complete around the end of November.
    • Impacts:
      • The Human Resources on the 5th floor cannot be accessed via elevator.
      • For assistance accessing services on the 5th floor please contact HR at 860-679-7913.
      • Construction work may generate some noise and low odors. Please contact Rich Allen at 860-480-2087 to report any issues

    Elevator 14 repairs (C – Building, Subbasement, basement & ground floors)

    • Project Scope: Replace elevator traveling cable and waterproofing of pit.
    • Schedule: Work has been completed and the elevator is now functional.

    Auxiliary Gift Shop Relocation – Main Building

    • Project Scope: Renovate vacant space adjacent to the Connecticut Tower elevators on the Main floor for the new location of the Auxiliary Gift Shop.
    • Schedule: Demolition work is in progress within room LM079. Substantial completion is anticipated in late November.
    • Impacts:
      • Be aware of posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
      • Protective wall barriers will be constructed in the main corridor to protect the public and staff.
      • Construction scheduled during normal business hours and off hours.
      • Construction work may generate some noise and low odors.  Please contact Rich Allen at 860-480-2087 to report any issues

    Fit-Out of Operating Rm. 1 – University Tower (T – Building)

    • Project Scope: Fit-Out existing shelled operating room #1 (TG514).  
    • Schedule: Work to begin September 30, 2019 / Finish - December 16, 2019
    • Impacts:
      • Be aware of posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
      • Construction scheduled during normal business hours and off hours, as coordinated with staff.

    Pharmacy Renovations USP800 Compliance – Outpatient Pavilion (S – Building 4th Floor) and C/Main (C - Building 2nd Floor)

    • Project Scope: Construct new HD storage rooms and renovate/upgrade existing compounding rooms    
    • Schedule: Outpatient Pavilion Start October 7, 2019 / Finish - December 2019.  Main Start November 2019 / Finish February 2020
    • Impacts:
      • Be aware of posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
      • Construction scheduled during normal business hours and off hours, as coordinated with staff.

    Garage 3 Expansion Joint Repairs

    • Project Scope: Removal and Replace caulk expansion joints.
    • Schedule: Work will be performed on three consecutive weekends.
    • Impacts:
      • Phase III- Level 4 parking, there will be no parking:
        Saturday, November 2, 2019 to Monday, November 4, 2019, final completion.
      • Please pay attention to Do Not Enter construction signs and coned off areas.
      • Construction work may generate some odors and noise.

    “E” Building Basement – Disaster Recovery Room Fire Suppression System

    • Project Scope: Test Fire Alarm for the Fire Suppression System
    • Schedule: The final test is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2019.
    • Impacts:
      • During the testing period, there will be periodical fire alarm (high pitched) sound.
      • Testing may generate minor electrical interruptions in the testing area only.
      • Signs will be posted notifying staff of the Fire Alarm test in “E” Building.

    L Building, Laboratory Elevator Lobby Doors to C Building – Badge Readers

    • Project Scope: Install card readers and secure corridor doors on 1st & 2nd floors exiting C Building into L Building Laboratory Elevator Lobby.
    • Schedule: Work has been completed.
    • Impacts:
      • Please use your badge to enter L Building on 1st & 2nd floors.

    11 South Road – UMG Internal Medicine Suite 130 Opening on 10/28

    • Project Scope: Make modifications to additional leased space to create new Internal Medicine clinic.
    • Schedule: Clinic is opening on 10/28.  Work to modify Med Room and create a Blood Draw area will occur between now and mid-December.
    • Impacts:
      • Be aware of posted signage and do not enter construction areas.
      • Some work will be scheduled off-hours to minimize disruption to patient care.
      • Construction work may generate some odors and noise.  Please contact Janice Hill at 860-480-6392 to report any issues.
