    Program Staff for International Exchange Program 

    UConn’s Global Training and Development Institute (GTDI) is looking for a UConn recent graduate (May 2018) or matriculated graduate student to work full-time or part-time with UConn’s Study of the U.S. Institute on Social Entrepreneurship (SUSI) program (funded by the U.S. State Department, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs).  In addition to the specific academic learning goals of the program, the program has been designed to foster mutual understandings, cross-cultural dialogues, and new relationships between the participants and their counterparts in the U.S. This is a temporary, special payroll position.

    • Program staff live in Hilltop Apartments and help coordinate evening and weekend activities for 20 college student leaders from North Africa during the 4-week exchange program. They also assist in some of the day-to-day activities of the academic program.  There is currently one vacancy for a residential staff member in the female dorm.
    • Program staff help facilitate this cross-cultural experience, and assist participants to take advantage of all available UConn resources and activities. They participate in the discussions and debates, assist in anticipating participant needs and problems, and help facilitate solutions.
    • Lodging, meals, and all travel costs will be paid during the five-week program, which is scheduled for July 7 – August 10, 2018.  Program staff may have the option of working just the first four weeks (based at UConn), or participating in all five weeks (including going on the one week study tour to New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC).
    • Compensation for full time staff is $2,400 for four weeks or $3,000 for five weeks. Part-time staff compensation will be negotiated based on work schedule agreed upon by both parties.
    • Applicants should have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be interested in working with University student leaders from North Africa and learning about social entrepreneurship.
