Join UConn Special Olympics on March 4th for our second annual Smile Mile in the field house!
The Second Annual Jeffny Pally Smile Mile is a one mile walk/wheel in support of the R-Word campaign. The R-Word campaign's goal is to raise awareness and to eliminate the use of the words "retard" and "retarded" as it is a derogatory term that is very harmful to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their friends and family. The Smile Mile was inspired and brought to UConn by Jeffny Pally, who's passion for Special Olympics, the R-Word campaign and to make everyone feel special and welcome was unmatched.
The event will consist of a one mile walk/wheel around the Field House along with many activities, games, music, and food! Registration is free and easy so follow the link below to sign up! We are looking forward to seeing you all there and helping Spread the Word to End the Word! :)
