            The UConn Pre-Medical Alternative Break to the Dominican Republic is participating in a fundraiser to raise money for the community of La Piedra.  La Piedra is a rural community that we work with year round where people make less than $1 per day.  

           The children normally go to school at the community center of Guanin where they receive two meals per day and an education.  However, the children cannot attend school right now as the school-bus broke down and Guanin does not have the funds to support their education.
