The purpose of this organization will be to raise awareness for healthcare and socioeconomic disparities in Haiti. To actively make an impact on these disparities, we provide opportunities for undergraduates to collect donated amenities from on-campus drives, participate in medical services, and volunteer in orphanages in a third-world setting through an annual medical mission trip to Haiti.
H4H uniquely provides sustainable service and develops long-lasting ties to the same local community by working with a US-Haitian based nonprofit called Angel Wings International. Additionally, partnering with Angel Wings bypasses large philanthropic organizations in order to ensure that funds are appropriately utilized to provide aid locally to those who need it the most - instead of losing valuable donations in the labyrinth of the bureaucracies of large non-profits like American Red Cross.
Our first meeting is on Monday, Feb 12th, from 8pm-9pm at ITE 125! We will be discussing goals for the semester and starting projects for fundraising and drives.
