    Improving Campus Wellness: Human Subjects Requested

    Survey to Promote Nutrition and Health for University of Connecticut Students

    The University of Connecticut’s Department of Nutritional Sciences is seeking UConn undergraduate and graduate students (any campus) ages 18 years and older to complete an online survey. University of Connecticut is collaborating with the University of Tennessee and over 90 other colleges and universities to improve campus wellness.  As one step, we are conducting online surveys to collect information about factors impacting obesity risk of UConn students. 

    Who can participate?

    • Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled at UConn, any campus;
    • At least 18 years of age; and
    • Able to read English.

    What does this project involve?

    • Students will be asked to complete an online survey (lasting 20-60 minutes) twice, once in the fall of 2017 and once in the spring of 2018.
    • The survey includes questions about knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, behaviors and practices related to food, nutrition, stress, weight management, body image and physical activity.
    • The survey also asks about student demographics.
    • The survey will stop after the first 150 UConn students participate.

     What will participants receive?

    • Up to 150 UConn students will receive a $10 eAmazon gift card for completing each survey with a chance to receive up to $20 total if completing both the pre and post survey.
