#DYK it is only $15 for students to attend the 2nd Annual National Health Disparities Elimination Summit, “Living in America Today: Transforming Environments to Eliminate Health Disparities” if you register before this coming Thursday, October 20? If you register after the 20th, the price is just $20! For residents/fellows/graduate students, it is only $30 before October 20 and $45 after the 20th - a great deal!
Join us in Farmington on Saturday, October 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Keller Auditorium at UConn Health for a series of interactive panel discussions aimed to incite active discussions and develop action items on how leaders and summit attendees can deploy change in their communities.
Presented by the Connecticut Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (CICATS) at UConn in collaboration with the W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute and with support from the Connecticut Legislative Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, the summit’s program will focus on how some physical, healthcare and social environments may create or exacerbate health disparities, especially in African-American and Latino communities.
Leading experts from Connecticut and across the US will discuss hot topics from the water crisis in Flint, MI, to whether gun violence should be classified as a public health issue, to the impact diversity may play in patient outcomes. Where you live matters.
