  • 9/16 Indian Students Association Presents: Garba

UConn Indian Students Association (ISA) is back to bring you another fun night of celebration, this year at the Student Union Ballroom. Navratri is a festival celebrating the Hindu goddess, Durga. Translated, the word means "nine nights." Traditionally, the night has consisted of some garba, followed by raas and ending with some sunedo or bhangra, all forms of Indian dances.

Join us for a night of dancing and light refreshments! We would also like to introduce members of Sanskriti, performing some live music at the event!

    *** Admission is $8 ***

    *** Please note: ***

    • All UConn students must bring their ID.
    • All guests must be accompanied by a UConn student and must bring their college ID or state-issued ID.
    • NO alcohol allowed. Anyone who is intoxicated or under-the-influence will be escorted from the event.

Also, check out our Dandiya Decorating event, so that you can jazz up your dandiya's and show them off at Garba :) Dandiyas will also be sold at the door for $2 per pair.
