I am excited to share with you the launch of the very first MIS Case Competition. We are looking for teams of 4 students to create and prepare a presentation detailing the solution to a real-world business case. This case competition is open to all School of Business students but has an information systems focus and is very open ended on how you can approach it. A basic overview of the competition, guidelines, awards, and a place for teams to sign up is available here – s.uconn.edu/ima Not only is this a great opportunity to practice your presentation skills and teamwork abilities in a real-world settings, but a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Scholarship award is available. Specific information is also available on the website.
The important dates are as follows:
- Kickoff Meeting – Fri, Sept 16 1:00 PM (Any teams or individuals should attend, refreshments will be served)
- Teams Finalized via Email – Wed, Sept 21
- Case Emailed out to all Teams – Fri, Sept 23
- Case Presentations – Fri, Sept 30 (All Day, teams only report during assigned timeslot to present – continental breakfast and deli spread will be served)
- Award Luncheon – Fri, Oct 7 11:30 AM
- BUSN Board Room, 321 (Boxed Lunches will accompany closing remarks and awarding of scholarships)
