America Reads is a Community Outreach program that works in 5 schools in Mansfield, Windham, Willington, and Hartford. Participants work to strengthen students' reading, writing and math skills through individualized and group tutoring in pre-K through 12th grade. America Reads works to promote literacy and provide support in a classroom setting to facilitate an impactful learning experience. Participants make meaningful connections with students, act as positive role models, and lower the adult to student ratio in the classroom. On campus, volunteers will get to learn more about the greater issues surrounding literacy and education both locally and nationwide.
Information Sessions will be held on Thursday September 15th at 5-6pm and Friday September 16th at 2-3pm in Oak 111. Apply today!
