    Information Session

    Wednesday, October 7, 2015
    3:30-5:00 pm
    Laurel Hall 306

Imagine spending a month of your summer living in South Africa! Come learn about this amazing Education Abroad program from beloved Capetonian, Rev. Vernon Rose and Professor Marita McComiskey.

(Students who have gone on this trip in the past are invited to come see Vernon and help answer questions!)

Drawing on the university’s core value of Human Rights, the Learning Communities in Cape Town summer Education Abroad program provides one of the best ways to learn about yourself, expand your world view, and work for social justice while gaining skills essential to be a well-informed global citizen. It will immerse you into the living history of South Africa by directly involving you in institutions that are wrestling with South Africa’s troubled past and creating a modern, democratic civil society. At the heart of the program is a three-day per week service-learning placement at a non-profit organization. Service-learning placements are specifically selected to meet the individual interests and goals of each student.
