  • 9/25 Concert tonight featuring world class musicians

The inaugural concert for the Community Concert Series is this evening, Friday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. and will feature the expert skills of world-renowned organist, Ezequiel Menéndez, and internationally recognized trumpeter and UConn professor, Louis Hanzlik, at St. Marks Chapel located on the north end of campus at 42 N. Eagleville Road.  The opportunity of having these two world-class musicians perform on our campus is an event not to miss!  The organ at St. Mark's Chapel, Opus 21, was built by the foremost pioneer in the organ reform movement – John Brombaugh.  It was created as a tracker action, which makes it especially suited for performance of Baroque music.  What is tracker action and why is it Baroque, you ask?  These important questions will be explored through an evening of music for which this instrument was intended, pairing the organ with the unique and beautiful sound of the trumpet, for "Brombaugh, Baroque, and Brass."

This concert is free and open to the public.  Donations are graciously accepted to support our Organ Fund. A concert flyer is located on our website:  http://www.stmarkschapel.org/music/concerts-and-events/community-concert-series/
