  • 10/26 UConn Campus Bicycle Safety Ride

Please join us for a guided ride to experience campus bicycle facilities, identify safety concerns, and share ideas for improving cycling safety and connectivity across campus.  This event is part of the Safe Streets and Roads for UConn project, https://updc.uconn.edu/atp/ a grant funded update to the university’s Active Transportation Plan for the Storrs Campus.

The Bicycle Safety Ride is open to all members of the UConn community including Students, Faculty, and Staff.  Bicycles are available free of charge, and you do not need a Recreation Membership to attend.

The event will consist of a bicycle ride of approximately 4-6 miles (approximately one hour) around campus on common roads and paths. The group will stop at points of interest to discuss, evaluate, and observe traffic flow for all road users.

The date for the ride is Monday, October 26, 2026 (Rain Date:  Monday, November 2, 2026) and we will start and end at the UConn’s Recreation Adventure Center.  This is the northeast corner of the Recreation Center Building.  We will meet at 11:30 to ensure everyone has the proper equipment and begin the ride at noon.

You are welcome to bring your own transportation or borrow a bicycle from UConn Recreation. Helmets are required and available to borrow at UConn Recreation.
