    Brief biography

    Cameron Gettel, MD, MHS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and a Clinical Investigator at the Yale Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. Dr. Gettel aims to advance the understanding of emergency department care transitions in the geriatric population through the identification and development of patient- and caregiver-reported outcome measures and then to design, implement, and validate innovative care transition strategies and interventions to improve clinical outcomes. Dr. Gettel has been funded by the NIH/NIA GEMSSTAR R03, the NIA K76 Paul B. Beeson Career Award, the NIA IMPACT Collaboratory, the Alzheimer's Association, the Yale OAIC Pepper Center, among others. At CORE, Dr. Gettel leads work funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to develop the next generation of quality measures across multiple care settings.

    Dr. Gettel earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Elizabethtown College and his Doctor of Medicine from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Most recently, he completed Emergency Medicine residency at Brown University and the National Clinician Scholars Program at Yale University.
