Evaluating Cognitive Awareness and Performance Degradation due to Sleep Deprivation

The purpose of the research study is to learn how healthy individuals cognitive and motor function is altered in response to acute sleep deprivation. To accomplish this goal, individuals will perform cognitive and walking tasks during various stages of acute sleep deprivation.

Healthy individuals can participate in the 5-day protocol if they are between 18 and 40 years old. Participants will be excluded if they are unable to walk for extended periods of time.

Participants will be paid $125 for their participation upon completion of the study.

Research will be conducted in the Human Performance Laboratory in Gampel 104 and at home. To learn more about this research please contact Dr. Kristin Morgan (Kristin.2.morgan@uconn.edu).

This research study was approved by the UConn IRB, Protocol # HR22-0137.
