Volunteer Opportunities

  • Service-Learning Trips Beyond Uconn

Alternative Breaks are a great way to meet new people, learn about different communities and topics, and engage in service alongside community partners. The program give students the opportunity to build community, learn about important topics, and engage in service alongside community partners.

Each program has its own community focus area and combines education, hands-on service, reflection, and time spent learning with community partners. Programs may focus on areas such as healthcare, food systems, environmental conservation, housing, sustainability, and community development.

Programs take place in a variety of communities, including locations in Connecticut, across the U.S., as well as Puerto Rico and Costa Rica, depending on the program.
