Volunteers at our program help the Mansfield Senior Center with recreational and social activities to improve well-being and strengthen the sense of community! Possible service opportunities include the welcome desk and reception, food service, Wii bowling, and board games. We also have group meetings throughout the semester to reflect on experiences and make cards and crafts for the Seniors!
Weekly volunteering shifts and additional activities students can join are available Monday through Friday for 1-3 hours between 9:00am-4:00pm. The senior center is less than a 5 minute drive from campus, and transportation to and from the Mansfield Senior Center will be provided by the University through Community Outreach.
No prior experience is required! We simply look for respect, compassion, and a passion for community service. The Seniors love having students there, and it is a great way to experience working with a different population, share stories and experiences, and form close bonds with older adults in the community.
