What is your earliest memory? How do we begin to remember our past experiences? Join the CAP Lab as a research assistant for the MEMORY Study to delve into these questions and more!
The CAP Lab in the Department of Psychological Sciences is recruiting undergraduate research assistants for the MEMORY Study, a play-based research project examining the early development of episodic memory — the ability to remember past experiences, including what, where, and when events happened.
Research assistants will help study how toddlers begin to form and express memories for everyday events. Responsibilities include preparing study materials, assisting with child-friendly research visits, interacting with families, video coding toddler behavior, and organizing research data. Study visits take place at UConn Storrs and UConn Waterbury.
This opportunity is ideal for students interested in developmental psychology, memory, cognitive development, neuroscience, education, or working with young children and families. No prior research experience is required, but reliability, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for learning are important.
Interested students should contact the graduate student investigator for this project, Kelsey Davinson (kelsey.davinson@uconn.edu), for more information.
Research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Cuevas, Department of Psychological Sciences.
