The University of Connecticut American English Language Institute (UCAELI) is looking for student volunteers to join us for our International Teaching Assistant Orientation.
This orientation supports new international graduate students as they transition into their TA roles. New students are especially excited to meet current TAs who can share their experiences, offer advice, and talk about teaching at UConn.
We’ll have a rotating group discussion on topics like:
- Who are our students?
- What do students expect?
- Cross-cultural classroom experiences
- Practice session for first-day teaching introductions and class discussions, with feedback provided
If you’re available Monday, August 17, from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, we’d love for you to participate! We welcome TAs from all academic fields.
We’re also looking for undergraduate students to join the conversation. Hearing directly from undergraduates about their experiences with TAs helps new instructors better understand how to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
