Congratulations to the 15 undergraduates awarded UConn IDEA Grants in the Spring 2026 funding cycle!
These outstanding students represent a broad range of disciplines—from chemistry to music, and nursing to digital media and design. Through the support of the UConn IDEA Grant, the recipients will pursue independent research projects, creative endeavors, service initiatives, or prototype development.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the faculty and staff who supported student applications and who will mentor these scholars as they carry out their projects.
The UConn IDEA Grant program provides funding for self-designed projects, including artistic and design work, community service initiatives, research, prototype development, entrepreneurial ventures, and other innovative and creative efforts. Undergraduate students from all majors and all UConn campuses are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted twice per year from individuals as well as small collaborative teams.
