    Register Now for Fall 2026 Social Work Courses Open to all UConn Undergraduates! 

    SOWK 2000 - Social Justice for the Social Work Profession, *Satisfies CA2, TOI-3, & TOI-5 requirements - This course introduces students to social justice and the values of human rights as the ethical foundation for the profession of social work. Students will practice self-awareness to help them critically examine the complexities of social inequities and engage in social change efforts.  In-person, Hartford - Th 4:00-6:30pm, Section 772 (class #4943 for registration).

    SOWK 2101 - Organizing for Social Change - This is a skill-based interactive course on community organizing and social change.  Students will learn about the history and theory of community organizing and gain basic tools and strategies that organizations and individuals use to effect change within their communities.  Open to all UConn Undergraduates who are interested in social justice/ social change! In-person, Storrs - M/W 4:40-5:55pm, Section 001 (class #4960 for registration).

    SOWK 2160 - Human Rights and Social Work, *Satisfies CA2, CA4INT, TOI-3, TOI-5, & Skill Area (for CLAS only) Communication and Dialogue requirements – In this course, students will gain an understanding of how to use a human rights framework to analyze key social problems and/or vulnerabilities that disadvantaged groups face.  Open to all students who have an interest in better understanding the social work profession and its connection to human rights! Online Synchronous, Storrs – M/W 4:40-5:55pm, Section 001 (class #12139 for registration).
