The University Scholar Program is an opportunity for motivated and academically talented students to get more from their last three undergraduate semesters. Available to students from all of the University’s schools and colleges, the University Scholar Program allows students to design and pursue an in-depth research or creative project and to craft an individualized plan of study that supports their intellectual interests during their final three semesters. Students are encouraged to propose projects in all areas of interest, including fine arts, humanities, social sciences, STEM, etc.
Admission to this selective program is made on the basis of an application submitted during the first semester of a student’s junior year.
The University Scholar program is hosting information sessions for current sophomores interested in applying in Fall 2026. (First years are also welcome to attend.) Students should begin exploring ideas and planning their Fall 2026 application now.
Information on current University Scholar projects can be found here: 2026 University Scholars; 2025 University Scholars.
Interested students should attend one of the information sessions we will be holding:
- Tues. April 14, 5-6 pm
- Wed. April 15, 5-6 pm
Both sessions are via WebEx: https://uconn-cmr.webex.com/meet/kpc01001
