Be ready to save a life. Get CPR certified on campus.
Cardiac emergencies happen without warning. In those first few minutes, the person nearby makes the difference. With the right training, that person could be you.
UConn Rescue is a student led nonprofit dedicated to making life saving education accessible to the campus community. We offer American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification courses designed for students pursuing healthcare, clinical work, or any role that requires CPR. The course is also perfect for anyone who wants to be prepared to help in an emergency.
Training is simple and flexible. After registering, you will complete the AHA HeartCode online learning at your own pace through videos, practice questions, and guided instruction. Then you will attend a brief 30 minute on campus skills session with one of our instructors to practice and demonstrate your skills.
The certification covers CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants, along with rescue breathing, choking response, and bag valve mask use. The same course is used for both initial certification and renewals.
As a nonprofit organization, UConn Rescue keeps training affordable with a flat rate of $80 for all classes. Every participant receives an official American Heart Association BLS certification, accepted for healthcare and patient care positions, including requirements for many UConn clinical programs.
Thousands of UConn students, staff, and faculty have already been trained. Take the next step and gain a skill that truly matters.
