Annual Luis B. Eyzaguirre Lecture & Film Screening

You are warmly invited to attend this year’s Annual Luis B. Eyzaguirre Lecture, featuring a special film screening and guest presentation.

Hosted by El Instituto, the Eyzaguirre Lecture Fund, Spanish Studies (LCL Department), and the ELIN Fire Fund, this year’s event welcomes Dr. Juan Carlos Rodríguez (Ph.D., Duke University) — Director of Vieques: A Living Archive, Associate Professor of Spanish at Georgia Tech, and co-director of the Atlanta Global Studies Center.

Dr. Rodríguez’s work centers on Latin American documentary, sustainability, and digital humanities. The featured film, Vieques: A Living Archive, explores the history of Vieques and the impact of the U.S. Navy’s departure in 2003. The screening will be followed by a lecture and discussion with the filmmaker.
