VITA provides free in-person tax preparation for UConn international students and scholars. VITA volunteers are IRS-certified and trained to protect your personal information. Your privacy is very important to us.

⚠️ Important – Form 1042-S
If you expect to receive Form 1042-S, please wait before scheduling:
• 1042-S for treaty-exempt wages – usually available in early March. Please schedule after March 1.
• 1042-S for scholarship or other income – these are arriving via U.S. mail starting today.

Before making your appointment:
- Make sure you have all your tax documents.
- Review the “What to Bring” section on our website.
- Then schedule your appointment.
Appointments fill quickly, so please schedule as soon as you have all required documents.
