  • 2/4 CT Unscene Premiere: Discover CT's Music Scene

You're invited to the premiere of CT Unscene—an upcoming documentary produced and directed by UConn IDEA Grant recipient Evan Elmore ’27 (SFA) that shines a spotlight on a side of Connecticut many people never see: its vibrant, grassroots DIY music scene.
When most people think of Connecticut, they don’t think “music hub.” Often overshadowed by NYC and Boston, our state is frequently skipped by touring artists—but that hasn’t stopped an incredible community from growing right here in backyards, basements, bars, and small venues across CT.
CT Unscene dives into this thriving underground world, featuring:
    - Interviews with prominent local bands, rappers, solo artists, venue owners, and scene supporters
    - Genres including indie rock, hardcore, punk, and a rising rap community working to establish its own foothold
    - Stories that highlight the passion, inclusivity, and energy that make the scene—“chaos in the best way,” as described by a member of the band Solgyres
This is your chance to experience the community, creativity, and heart behind Connecticut’s unfiltered music culture.
