We are sorry to share the news that Olivia Jade Iv, a student at the UConn Hartford campus passed away on January 14, 2026. Olivia was from Enfield, Connecticut and she entered UConn in fall 2023 in the ACES program at Storrs. After two years at the Storrs campus she was admitted to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program and changed her home campus to Hartford. Olivia’s goals were to have a career in Social Work where she could help others.
Olivia loved horses and at UConn was involved with the Equestrian community as well as Community Outreach program. She was interested in helping in her community and volunteered at the Covenant Soup Kitchen while at UConn. Olivia also gave of her time as a volunteer with organizations to support animal rescue groups. Her family has provided this obituary to share more about Olivia who will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. Funeral service will be private.

The staff in the Dean of Students in suite 102, Wilbur Cross are available to help students navigate this difficult time. Students can stop by during drop-in hours, no appointment needed at that time or they may call 860-486-3426 to request a meeting with an Assistant Dean.
Students at a regional campus needing support should reach out to SHaW or the Student Services staff on their home campus.
Staff and faculty, including Graduate Assistants are encouraged to reach out to UConn’s Employee Assistance Program if they are in need of support.
