International Student Information

  • Join the International Students Advisory Board

    Dear International Huskies!

Welcome to the spring semester! My name is Portia Opoku, and I am an international graduate student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program at UConn. This semester, I will be working with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) as part of my practicum, supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement and communication within the international student community.

I am reaching out to share a call for applications for the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB). ISAB works closely with ISSS to elevate international student voices, share feedback, and help improve the international student experience at UConn. Members serve as a bridge between students and the university and contribute to outreach and engagement efforts across campus.

    We are inviting:

    • International students (graduate and undergraduate students) who are interested in applying directly to serve on ISAB, and
    • Student leaders, faculty, and peers to nominate international students (graduate and undergraduate students) you believe would be strong representatives of the community.

I do encourage you to apply for yourself or nominate a student to apply. Kindly find the application/nomination link below.

Thank you very much for your support and for the work you do to foster community, leadership, and belonging among students. Please feel free to reach out to me at international@uconn.edu if you have any questions or would like additional information.
