  • Chinese students needed for research

    We are sharing this as a courtesy with students. As a reminder participation in this study for compensation is allowed by on-campus employment rules for F-1 students. This does mean that students with a 100% GA or 20 hrs of on-campus employment may not be eligible.

     

    Dear Friend, 

    We are a research team from UConn’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences conducting a group-based mindfulness and yoga intervention research (IRB: H25-0274) aimed at promoting the mental and physical well-being of Chinese international students. The entire program will be conducted in Mandarin and held in person at the UConn Storrs campus.

    You will receive up to $105 in compensation for your time and effort.

    🔍 Eligibility Criteria:

    • Aged 18–29

    • Currently enrolled full-time as a Chinese international student at UConn Storrs

    • Can read simplified Chinese and speak mandarin fluently

    • Currently experiencing stress

    You may not be eligible if you:

    • are experiencing acute mental illness and not receiving recommended treatment;

    • have joined a mindfulness or yoga program lasting over 4 weeks in the past 2 years;

    • have a chronic medical condition that limits physical activity.

     

    📝 What You’ll Do:

    • Complete three online surveys (before the program, after the program, and one-month follow-up)

    • Participate in two short in-person computerized attention tests (before and after the program)

    • Join a 4-week group-based mindfulness and yoga course in Mandarin
