  • Menstrual Donation Drive

We need your HELP in collecting MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS to combat period poverty in Hartford Public Schools and Hartford youth programs. Your help can ensure that students in need have access to menstrual products and education.

We are collecting menstrual products because nationwide, one out of four teens experience difficulties accessing menstrual products. Moreover, it can be stress inducing for students to manage their periods at school; data shows stress levels are higher for Hispanic and low-income students. This stress ultimately affects their ability to learn. One in four students indicated that they were not able to take part in schoolwork due to their lack of ability to obtain menstrual products. Evidently, period poverty is a pressing issue that affects adolescents’ girls' ability to obtain a quality education.

If you are able to spread the word or donate, we are accepting Venmo donations through the QR code in the flyer (please write "menstrual donation" in the Venmo notes). We are also accepting drop-off in-person donations in our office at 195 Farmington Avenue Suite 2100 or mail-in donations.

Pads are most needed, and you can visit the flyer for more details. As we gear up for the Spring semester, donations are appreciated before December 19th.

Your donation will support the work of the Hartford Health Education Program in which medical and dental students teach health education, such as puberty, nutrition, sexual health, positive relationships, and mental health to Hartford students. Thank you!
