You do not need to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa to apply.
Phi Beta Kappa (PBK), a very old (founded in 1776) and prestigious arts & sciences honors society, is now accepting applications for the Key into Public Service undergraduate scholarship. 20 undergraduates who are interested in careers in local, state or federal government will be chosen to receive $7600 toward their education. Recipients of the reward will also attend an all-expenses-paid conference during which they'll be introduced to leaders in public service.
Students intending to graduate between 12/1/2026 and 8/1/2028 who are majoring in arts, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences are eligible. You do not need to be a member of PBK to apply.
More details including application requirements are at pbk.org/programs/keyintopublicservice. Applications are due Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Let's keep the momentum going: Several UConn students have received this prestigious award in recent years, including current Economics and Environmental Science major Andy Zhang (congratuations again, Andy!).
