    Participants Wanted for a Research Study on Music and Brain Plasticity

    What is this study about? We want to understand the effect of musical training on brain plasticity.

    Who can participate? Anyone between the ages of 18-30 who has normal hearing, is not a competitive athlete, and has no history of neurological or mental health disorders. We are recruiting non-musicians, former musicians, and current musicians.

    What will I have to do? Participants will come to the Phillips Communication Sciences Building on the UConn campus for one (~2 hour) visit. Participation will include hearing and music tests and the collection of a blood sample at the downtown Storrs location of UConn Health As compensation for participating in the study, participants will receive $30.

    This research is conducted through IRB # H25-0222 under the direction of Dr. Erika Skoe of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department.
