Participate in a Brain Imaging Study on Emotion and Language!
We are actively recruiting participants for a study titled “The Neural Basis of Emotional Well-Being”, approved by the UConn IRB and funded by the National Institutes of Health. This research explores how the brain processes emotional language and supports emotional well-being across diverse populations.
What will you do?
- Virtual: Complete online surveys and behavioral questionnaires.
- In-person: Participate in MRI tasks at the Brain Imaging Research Center on the Storrs campus.
- Session 1: MRI video watching
- Session 2: Story listening
You may qualify if you:
- Are between 18–35 years old.
- Meet MRI safety criteria (e.g., no irremovable metal in your body).
- Fluent in English
- Note: You do not need to be a UConn student or affiliated with UConn to participate.
Compensation:
- $15 for behavioral questionnaires of one session; $30 if you complete behavioral questionnaires of both sessions.
- $17/hour for one MRI session; $22/hour if you complete both sessions.
- OR receive partial course credit.
- Bonus: Get pictures of your brain if youʼd like.
