    In celebration of Manufacturing Month, the UConn School of Business Digital Frontiers Initiative invites you to the Smart Manufacturing Summit: Turning Data into Decisions—an event dedicated to exploring how data, analytics, and innovation are transforming manufacturing in Connecticut and beyond.

     

    The forum brings together manufacturers, data experts, educators, and students for an evening of insights, discussion, and connection.

     

    The program will open with a keynote address from a Connecticut manufacturing leader who will share how their organization is adapting to the rapidly changing landscape through technology, data-driven decision-making, and workforce development.

     

    Panel 1: The Future of Connecticut’s Manufacturing Workforce

    This discussion brings together leaders from industry, education, and workforce development to explore how Connecticut is advancing its manufacturing ecosystem through data-driven decision-making and talent innovation. Panelists will examine strategies to strengthen the state’s manufacturing workforce—from aligning education with employer needs to leveraging analytics for smarter growth.
    Topics include:

    • Employment Strategies: Attracting and retaining skilled talent in a competitive market.
    • Economic Impact: The role of manufacturing in driving Connecticut’s economic vitality.
    • Education and Pipeline Development: How high schools and technical programs are preparing the next generation for modern manufacturing careers.

    This conversation highlights how manufacturers are using data and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, productivity, and innovation. Panelists will share real-world applications of analytics—from the shop floor to the global supply chain—and discuss how digital transformation is creating smarter, more connected manufacturing environments.
