Are you looking for a way to combine international travel with hands-on healthcare experience? The UConn Bridge to Guanin Alternative Break is an exciting 10-day service trip to the Dominican Republic taking place in January during the intersession.
Participants will have the chance to gain direct patient care experience by triaging in Spanish (no prior language skills required), take care of patients during in-house visits, shadow/observe clinical procedures at a maternity and children’s hospital, support mobile health clinics serving families in the rural community of La Piedra, and more!
This program is open to students of all backgrounds who are passionate about healthcare, service, and cultural exchange.
