  • 7/7 Adopt-a-Health-District (ADOPHD) Internship

Still searching for a meaningful internship for 2025–2026? The  Adopt-a-Health-District (ADOPHD) program offers hands-on experience in public health, focusing on opioid prevention and mental health education.

The ADOPHD internship is a two-semester, for-credit opportunity that immerses students in community-based public health work. Interns commit 5–15 hours per week in a hybrid format, alternating between remote project work and on-site shifts, while participating in bi-weekly labs and quarterly meetings. They engage with primary prevention techniques for the opioid crisis and educate the public with mental health support and substance use prevention programs, all while learning more about healthcare and positive outcomes.
