  • Enrolling Participants in Stress Management Study

    Seeking LGBTQ+ undergraduate students We are conducting a study entitled “SAGE Study”. The goal of this study is to test the effect of yoga and health education on college students’ stress management. All research activities will occur virtually.

    Who can participate?

    ·        College or University students aged 18-25

    ·        Those who identify as LGBTQ+

    ·        Willing to complete 8 week study with 2 assessment points at the start and end.

     

    If you qualify for the study (based on a 5-10 minute short screening survey on stress, pain, and other current diagnoses), you will be randomly assigned to a group. One group of students will participate in a virtual yoga class, one group of students will participate in a virtual health education class. You will be asked to complete a ~30 minute online survey and mail fingernail clippings to the study team at two different times over a period of 8 weeks. The surveys will ask some sensitive questions. Participation in this study is voluntary and strictly confidential. You will receive a $30 electronic gift card for the first survey and fingernail collection at the start of the study, $40 for the second survey and fingernail collection 8 weeks later, and if you complete all data collection (surveys and fingernails) you will receive a 100% completion bonus incentive of an additional $50.
