    The Intersectionality and Resistance for Explosive Times-Undergraduate Student Symposium followed by "Uncovering the Social Physics of Love through the Mind/Body/Emotions Matrix"

    A Keynote Conversation with Dr. Chela Sandoval

    Faculty in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program will award top undergraduate student papers addressing intersectionality as a politics of resistance and transformative change in the face of numerous planetary challenges. The top student papers will be presented followed by a keynote talk by Chela Sandoval, the outstanding namesake and first recipient of the WGSS Chela Sandoval Prize in Transformative Intersectional Praxis who will be in conversation with Elva Orozco Mendoza, Katerina Gonzalez Seligmann, and YOU.

    Day: Thursday, April 17, 2025; 1:30-5 p.m.

    Location: Konover Auditorium

    1:30-3:15PM: Undergraduate Award Panel

    3:15-3:30PM: Break (Beverages and snacks in the Konover Lounge)

    3:30-5PM: Keynote speech

     

    A visionary scholar of decolonial and Chicana feminist theory, Sandoval will revisit topics including: the 25th Anniversary of the Methodology of the Oppressed, l and 1970's Third World Feminist Activism, bio-semiology, deconstruction, meta-ideologizing, differential perception and democratics. This keynote will provide essential tools for activists, scholars, and anyone dedicated to fostering grassroots justice and radical change.
