The UConn Fed Challenge Team is a highly motivated group of UConn students interested in macroeconomics, monetary policy, and a future career in economic research/policymaking. Each fall, university teams across the country compete against each other in a "case challenge" like manner. UConn team members will attend student-run weekly meetings to discuss and analyze economic and financial conditions to formulate a monetary policy recommendation. At the end of fall, the team will present the recommendation at a competition sponsored by the Federal Reserve. At this competition, students will be given a chance to present io Federal Reserve economists and network with other top teams. Finally, there is an opportunity to visit Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C for a concluding conference!
The UConn team has recently performed extremely well, emerging as New England region finalists along with Yale and Harvard. We are excited to recruit new members who can further help us excel.
If you are interested in economics, current affairs, policymaking, or academic research, we highly encourage you to fill out this non-binding interest form. Being an economics major is not required.
