The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is excited to announce our annual Student Commencement Speaker Competition and CLAS Student Commencement National Anthem Singer Competition for the 2025 CLAS undergraduate commencement ceremonies.

CLAS Student Commencement Speaker Competition
Three graduating students will be selected to present remarks on behalf of their fellow graduates at their respective ceremonies on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Interested students should submit a Microsoft Word document and an audio recording of their speech to clas_commencement@uconn.edu. Please include your full name, Peoplesoft number, and major(s). The speech should be no longer than five minutes.
Finalists will be asked to audition their speech in person.
Deadline to submit: Monday, March 24, 2025
CLAS Student Commencement National Anthem Singer Competition
Graduating students will be selected to sing the national anthem at one of the three commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Interested students should submit an audio recording of themselves singing the national anthem to clas_commencement@uconn.edu. Please include your full name, Peoplesoft number, and major(s).
Finalists will be asked to audition in person.
Deadline to submit: Monday, March 24, 2025
